Founded in 2006, National Day of the Deployed honors the United States military personnel deployed around the globe. Observed on October 26th, it is a day to recognize the people who have been deployed, are sacrificing, or have sacrificed their lives to defend their country, as well as recognize their families who are making sacrifices so that their family members can serve our country. As of 2012, every state in the U.S. observes the day.
The average military deployment is typically between 6-12 months long. We know how trying this can be for families to be a part from one another, especially if there are small children away from their parents.
